With trvllr, you’re no longer tied to a single mobile network. Our multi-network eSIM automatically connects you to any available domestic provider, giving you the best possible signal wherever you are. This means fewer black spots, no more dead zones caused by poor or no coverage from your domestic network, and a more reliable connection for your essential data needs, whether you're working remotely, navigating on the go, or staying in touch with loved ones. Stay connected, everywhere.
You cannot switch between local providers because they’re competitors, each with exclusive rights to their own part of the network spectrum. They're not required to share, and doing so would affect performance and business. Normally, roaming is only allowed for non-domestic ones. That’s why trvllr is different, it uses it's international roaming agreements to connect you to any available local network, giving you better coverage and fewer black spots wherever you are. It even allows you options and alternatives so that you can remain connected during network outages, or if there is poor or no coverage on your domestic, primary sim.
Domestic mobile networks within the same country don’t allow local competitors to roam on their infrastructure because they operate in a highly competitive, commercially protected environment. Each network owns exclusive rights to a portion of the licensed spectrum, and there’s no regulatory obligation to share it with rivals. Letting local competitors use their network would dilute their competitive edge, reduce customer loyalty, and risk overloading infrastructure built specifically for their own users.
Yet paradoxically, these same networks are required (often by international agreements) to allow foreign SIMs to roam on their networks. This is part of a long-standing system to ensure travellers can stay connected abroad. Yet to the average domestic user, this makes little sense. Why can someone visiting from another country access multiple networks, while a local resident is stuck with just one?... Even if there is a network outage, the signal is weak or there is no coverage in certain areas?
The result is a strange situation: if you want the best mobile coverage in your own country, you're often better off using a roaming or international solution like trvllr. By leveraging roaming agreements across all domestic networks, it ensures you always get the strongest signal, without being locked into a single provider’s limitations.
